International Forum for Sustainable Asia and the Pacific 2018 (ISAP2018) to be held on 18 and 19 July at Pacifico Yokohama
The Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) organises its annual headline event, the International Forum for Sustainable Asia and the Pacific (ISAP), with a view to engage the region’s key decision-makers and leading thinkers in substantive discussions about actionable approaches for realising sustainable development. In addition to IGES’s 20th Anniversary, 2018 marks ISAP's tenth year, and on 18-19 July, the event will again play host to a wide number of participants from Japan and around the world in the beautiful port city of Yokohama.

IGES participates in 8th Regional 3R Forum in Asia and the Pacific: "State of the 3Rs in Asia and the Pacific" Report Launched

From 9-12 April 2018, IGES participated in the 8th Regional 3R Forum in Asia and the Pacific, held in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India, co-organised by the Government of India’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Japan’s Ministry of the Environment (MOEJ), and the United Nations Centre for Regional Development (UNCRD). This event served as the launch for a new joint IGES-UNCRD publication entitled “State of the 3Rs in Asia and the Pacific”, supported by MOEJ. The report has been developed in coordination with a key expert panel of waste management specialists from across Asia.

IGES participates in Fifth Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD)

The Fifth Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD), organised by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission of Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), was held on 28-30 March 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand. APFSD is a key preparatory meeting for the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development meeting planned for this coming July (HLPF 2018). IGES organised two official side events at APFSD - “Integrated Approach to Ensure Resource Efficiency and Transformative Impact, the Case of SDG11 and SDG12”, led by IGES’s newly established SWITCH-Asia SCP Facility, and “The Role of Innovative Financial Instruments in Accelerating Deployment of Renewable Energy and Improving Energy Efficiency in Asia and the Pacific”.
