ISAP2016
Registration Deadline Approaching for ISAP2016!
IGES will organise ISAP2016 - International Forum for Sustainable Asia and the Pacific on 12-13 July 2016 in Yokohama, Japan. The deadline for registration is Thursday, 30 June.

The event will feature discussions with front-line experts on how we can ensure effective implementation of two agreements, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, including SDGs, and the Paris Agreement, at international, national and local levels to promote sustainable actions going forward.

Renowned international experts, including Laurence Tubiana, Special Representative for COP21 and Hans Joachim Schellnhuber, Director, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, will join the discussion.

"Barriers for Implementation of the Philippine National Solid Waste Management Framework in Cities"


The Ecological Solid Waste Management Act (RA 9003) was passed in the Philippines in 2000, but has limited implementation at the local government unit level. This policy brief discusses key challenges for the effective implementation of the national policy, reviewing three case study cities and providing recommendations for both national and local governments on measures to expedite future policy implementation.
