View on your browser. 日本語 3 March 2023 NEWS Launch of a special webpage for the 10th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD 2023) The Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) is an annual meeting convened by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), which serves as part of the region’s preparation for the United Nations High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). APFSD provides a platform for supporting Asia-Pacific countries with their specific requirements to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals. In 2023, the 10th APFSD will be held from 27 to 30 March. The theme for APFSD 2023 is ‘Accelerating the recovery from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), and the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at all levels in Asia and the Pacific’. This special webpage introduces IGES’ key messages for realising the SDGs in Asia and the Pacific, as well as related events and perspectives. More details available here IGES and Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) update Memorandum of Understanding IGES and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) have updated and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance their joint efforts in policy research and sustainable development initiatives in Asia and the wider Pacific. The two institutes have a long history of collaboration and the updated MOU prioritises cooperation in six areas, namely resource efficiency and circular economy, waste and plastic pollution, climate change, co-benefits, water resource management, and the Regional Circulating and Ecological Sphere (Regional CES) approach. This MOU represents a significant milestone in the joint efforts of IGES and AIT, as knowledge hubs in Asia, to achieve sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific.
